Catalyx was tasked with addressing these challenges by implementing an automated inspection system for a cosmetic client site. Catalyx introduced an automated carton inspection solution powered by its proprietary Catalyx SmartFactory Software Suite. This advanced system incorporated cutting-edge technologies, including four cameras and Cognex tool-sets, for precise pattern recognition of key features on the cartons. These features encompassed barcodes, lot codes, shade colors, and label text. Through the intuitive SmartFactory interface, users could customize inspection parameters for each carton, ensuring tailored quality control measures.
The machine vision software developed by Catalyx enabled accurate identification of characters and patterns on the cartons, enhancing inspection precision. Fail-safe product tracking and seamless integration with external Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) were seamlessly integrated into the solution, enabling comprehensive traceability and reporting. Moreover, RGB lighting on the inspection modules provided clear visualization of different colored cartons and text, further expanding the system’s inspection capabilities.
The implementation of the automated inspection solution yielded significant improvements in accuracy and productivity within lipstick production. The client achieved thorough inspection of cartons with minimal errors, leading to enhanced product quality and heightened customer satisfaction.
